The Saami Brothers Qawwal on Friday enthralled a select audience at the launch of HIVE [Karachi], a joint venture of Pakistan Youth Alliance (PYA) and Khudi Pakistan, dedicated to training, research, resource development and social innovation to counter extremism. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Ustad Naseeruddin Saami one of Pakistan’s leading classical vocalists said Qawwali was a tool to promote peace, inter-faith harmony and provided an alternative to religious orthodoxy. Saami Brothers Qawwal of the 705-year-old Gharana of Qawwali - the Qawwal Bachon Ka Gharana of Delhi- gave a riveting performance. The event, ‘Sulh-e-Kul’, was attended by civil society representatives, academics, journalists and dignitaries.
